Frequently asked questions

Is it really anonymous?

Yes, completely. You act under a nickname only, and no author name is attached to any stone or pebble. You sign up with Google or Apple, and other people cannot see your personal information.

How long does a stone stay up?

A stone is deleted 30 days after it was written, whether or not its cairn is complete. Once it collects the number of pebbles you chose (5, 10 or 15), the cairn is finished and no more can be added — you can still read it for the rest of the 30 days.

Is it free?

Yes, all of it. No paid items, no in-app purchases, no ads.

Will I see posts written in other languages?

Yes. The forest is not split by language, so stones written in Korean, English and Japanese all appear as they were written. When you want to read one, swipe it left and tap Translate to open your device's own translator. Translation happens on your device; nothing is sent anywhere.
